Frequently Asked Questions:

Who can download from Freegal?
Any Mathews Memorial Library card holder in good standing can use Freegal.
How do I use Freegal?
Browse  and enter your library card number and PIN.  The PIN is the same as the password you use to access your library account online.  If you do not have a password or have forgotten your password see Creating a Password for Your Library Account.  You will need to accept the Terms and Conditions the first time you visit.  Browse the site or search for your favorite artist or song.  Click the download button of the song you want to download. Add the song to your media player of choice (iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc).
How many songs can I download at one time?
Library card holders are limited to five music downloads per week. This allows more people to use this service. The download count is reset to zero every Monday morning at midnight, so check back early the following week to download more titles.  You may also stream 3 hours of music per day.
Is downloading difficult?
No! Just click on "Download Now" and the song starts downloading. Be sure to choose "Save" if you are prompted to "Open" or "Save" your download. Be careful! Once you click on "Download Now," you cannot change your mind. It counts as one of your three downloads for the week.
Do I have to install anything?
No.  There is no download manager to install.  The music is downloaded straight from the site.  Freegal is amazingly easy to use.
How can I add songs to my iTunes collection that I downloaded in the Freegal app?
Songs downloaded using the Freegal app cannot be directly added to iTunes.  However, downloaded songs are available on your account for two weeks.  Login to Freegal in your web browser and select Downloads.  You can then re-download the songs you wish to add to iTunes.
