 A whole new world awaits you. Apply for your Mathews Memorial Library card today. A Mathews Memorial Library card gives you access to over 40,000 books, audio cassettes and CDs (including audio books), microfilm, videotapes and DVDs. You'll also be able to use dozens of online databases for homework assistance and research. You will be able to use the library's public computers for access to the Internet, word processing and research. You can even bring in your own laptop computer and connect to our wireless hotspot!

The privilege of checking out library materials and the use of other library services is available to anyone regardless of residence. New patrons are asked to apply for a library card by filling out a short application and agreeing to adhere to all library policies. Patrons are responsible for notifying the library on any change in contact information. Plastic key chain or wallet-sized cards are available for adult patrons. Paper cards are available for juvenile and young adult patrons. Temporary visitor passes are available for individuals visiting the area and would like to use the library's computer services.
There is no fee for a library card. Replacement cards are $1.00.

If you are age 18 or older, you must submit you application in person at the adult circulation desk. For an application you can print out, please download our application for patrons age 18 and older (Adobe Reader required).
If you are under age 18, you must submit your application in person at the youth circulation desk. A signature of a parent or guardian will be required. For an application you can print out, please download our application for patrons under age 18 (Adobe Reader required).

The Mathews Memorial Library offers over 40,000 titles for our patrons, both young and old, to borrow. These include popular fiction and non-fiction titles, large-print books, traditional audio books, digital audio books, reference materials, genealogy and archival resouces and much more.

Overdue Fines
Overdue fines are accessed and payable at check-in. All overdue items are accessed a fine of 5¢ per operating day up to a $10.00 maximum per-item charge. Borrowing and other library privileges are suspended for patrons who have items on loan that are 30 days or more overdue or cumalative fines exceeding $10.00.
Lost or Damaged Items
Replacement cost is charged.
Reserves
Items on loan may be reserved at the circulation desk, by calling by phone or by placing the reserve in our online catalog. The library will call patrons when the item is available for pickup.

If the library does not have the title you are looking for, we may be able to borrow it from another library via the Interlibrary loan system or purchase it for the library. Call the library or REQUEST BOOKS ONLINE NOW! You may also request the title in person at the library's circulation desk by filling out a Materials Request Form. Upon review of the request, the library reserves the right to not honor the request. Please allow 1-3 weeks for arrival after which you will be contacted by the library staff. Interlibrary loans are subject to the checkout periods and renewal restrictions of the lending library. and are assessed a $1.00 per day overdue fine. |
