Bringing the Library to You
Bringing the Library to You is a personal service provided by Mathews Memorial Library to those who are unable to come to the library because of temporary or extended disability or illness.

Who is eligible?
All Mathews County residents of any age who are homebound are eligible for Bringing the Library to You .
What can I borrow?
Books, books on tape or CD and selections from the Music Library. Reserves and interlibrary loans may also be placed.
Who selects the materials and formats?
Materials are selected by the library staff based on the individual’s preferences. A monthly “Library Specials” list will be available for material selection. Patrons may also request specific materials of their own choosing.
How are items delivered and returned?
Volunteers will deliver and pick-up the material on a regular delivery cycle matching the loan program of the library. If you prefer, a person designated by you can pick up your materials at the library. Materials you request will be checked out in advance and packaged for fast pick up.
How long may I keep the items checked out to me?
All materials are available with the same loan periods that apply to our in-person patrons.
What if I want to renew?
Call us before the due date if you need more time and we will renew if there is no one waiting for the item(s).
What are the fees and fines.
There is no charge for this program. Bringing the Library to You patrons are responsible for all borrowed materials and the replacement costs for any materials not returned to the library when requested.
