Soothin’ Summer Sounds @ Mathews Memorial Library is “Hitting a High Note Again” with Plunky & Oneness, a versatile funk, jazz, Afro-fusion group.

James “Plunky” Branch is the two-time recipient of NEA Jazz Fellowships and "one of the greatest living saxophonists!"

“Plunky” has served as Director of the Jazz Ensemble at Virginia Union University, as well as an instructor of Afro-American Music History at Virginia Commonwealth University, both in Richmond.

Additional Soothin' Summer Sounds concerts will be presented in July and August.
