Checkout Periods
The Mathews Memorial Library offers over 40,000 titles for our patrons, both young and old, to borrow. These include popular fiction and non-fiction titles, large-print books, traditional audio books, digital audio books, reference materials, genealogy and archival resouces and much more.
New books and audiobooks | 2-week checkout period with no renewal privileges |
All other books and audiobooks | 3-week checkout period with a two-renewal privilege |
Videocassettes & DVDs | 3 -week checkout period with no more than 6 items per patron with a two-renewal privilege |

Overdue Fines
Overdue fines are accessed and payable at check-in. All overdue items are accessed a fine of 10ยข per operating day up to a $10.00 maximum per-item charge. Borrowing and other library privileges are suspended for patrons who have items on loan that are 30 days or more overdue or cumulative fines exceeding $10.00.
Lost or Damaged Items
Replacement cost is charged.
Reserves
Items on loan may be reserved at the circulation desk, by calling by phone or by placing the reserve in our online catalog. The library will call patrons when the item is available for pickup.
Book Requests
If the library does not have the title you are looking for, we may be able to borrow it from another library via the Interlibrary loan system or purchase it for the library. Call the library or Request books online now! You may also request the title in person at the library's circulation desk by filling out a Materials Request Form. Upon review of the request, the library reserves the right to not honor the request. Please allow 1-3 weeks for arrival after which you will be contacted by the library staff. Interlibrary loans are subject to the checkout periods and renewal restrictions of the lending library. and are assessed a $1.00 per day overdue fine.
