Revolutionary War Virginia State Pensions is an index to and scanned images of the surviving records that veterans and their widows presented to the county courts to certify their eligibility for pension.

War of 1812 database is an index of approximately 40,000 names, published by the Commonwealth of Virginia, appearing in Pay Rolls of Militia Entitled to Land Bounty Under the Act of Congress of Sept. 28, 1850 (Richmond, 1851) and its supplement, Muster Rolls of the Virginia Militia in the War of 1812 (Richmond, 1852). The supplement includes militia companies and parts of companies omitted in the published Pay Rolls.

The Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System is a computerized database containing very basic facts about servicemen who served on both sides during the Civil War.

United States National Archives and Records Administration holds the records of the United States Federal government. On-line access to art works, census data, U.S. legal manuscripts, the Federal Register and numerous additional materials.
